“I finally chose UW because I could not forget the small Seattle town in the rain and the campus full of cherry blossoms.”

My process of choosing school can be summed up in one word: tangled. After I submitted my application, I began to worry about whether any school would accept me. My parents asked questions about my application status every day, which made me feel stressed. My first offer was from Penn State University. When I learned that I was admitted, I couldn’t have been happier. I didn’t end up going to Penn State, but thankfully, that gave me some peace of mind.

I finally chose UW because I could not forget the small Seattle town in the rain and the campus full of cherry blossoms. And my best friend is in Seattle! I hope that the Roycemore students who apply for colleges can do two things: communicate more and practice more. The key to communication is quality communication. When you’re choosing between hundreds of colleges, you have to find someone to teach you. The most important thing is to know “you.” After communicating with the Roycemore College Counselor, who provided a lot of useful materials and her own understanding of the school (because someone has visited many universities for you) it helped me a lot. Contacting university admissions officers is a “precise connection.” Don’t be afraid to send emails when you have questions. They will be polite and helpful. Because they really want you in their group. Practice more means take your time and visit more schools. You don’t know unless you experience it.
